DiscoverReads: Creating Personalized Reading Lists with BiblioCommons

Helping readers discover new reads is the goal of the Whitby Public Library’s re-vamped personalized readers’ advisory service, DiscoverReads. Based on the success of a traditional form-based service, the Whitby Library recently updated our process of curating reads for our patrons. In this presentation, we’ll share how and why we transitioned to using BiblioCommons Lists to create and share these personalized reading lists with our patrons. We’ll also share how we’re using other BiblioCommons features in combination with lists to grow our reader’s advisory connection with our community as part of our larger readers’ advisory strategy.
